Hero4 Session
visual design/production, 2014-2015

OVERVIEW
So small. So stoked.

Hero4 Session was GoPro's smallest camera to be added to their product line.
I spent two years as a UI/UX Designer on HERO4 Session Camera project (including remote, mobile and tablet platforms). I assisted in the development of early concepts and designs, contributing storyboards and illustrations for the HERO4 Session to visually communicate new features.

I worked as a visual designer and lead production designer and created design specifications/redline and final visual assets, and worked closely with firmware during the implementation process.
THE GOAL
To deliver and launch a beautiful and user-friendly UI for the Hero4 Session
RESPONSIBILITIES + TOOLS
-
Visual Design (creating assets), Production (redline specifications, cutting assets, delivering to FW), QA (coordinating with offshore teams to ensure correct implementation)
-
Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign)

THE PROCESS
My process is determined by several factors such as the project goals, business needs, complexity of the problem, and project time. Our process for this project involved vetting product needs with the right stakeholder teams, doing proper research studies (inhouse and outsourced), weekly syncs with both in house and outsourced design teams to discuss requirements and project goals. The visual design team worked closely with the interaction team to outline interactions and gestures within the product.
REDLINES
As the lead production designer for Hero4 Session, it was my responsibility to make sure every screen was fully spec'd for our engineering team, as well as cutting all assets and delivering to firmware in all android sizes. For a peek into some of these specs, click here.

DESIGN
On Session's later FW updates and future concepts, I served multiple design roles for visual development, final asset production and implementation, and interaction concepts.
